SUMMARY:Project Management Fundamentals
DESCRIPTION:Learn in a classroom environment with your peers\, virtually\, with a BEVA® instructor online. \nDuration: 2 days \nAudience: Managers/Supervisors/Team Leads/Team Members/Operations \nLearning Objectives \nGiven an assigned case study\, or working on an existing project\, the learner whether in management\, administrative or operations will create a project charter\, a WBS\, RACI chart and\, communications plan to allow a project team to accomplish project objectives. \nExpected Outcomes \nPerformed-Based activities will be used as the type of assessment to measure the student achievement of those outcomes. The learner will be part of a group (project team) for which they will participate in workshops to complete various project documentations (objectives). \nAs an example the group will have a template and create a project charter (WBS\, RACI chart and communications plan) based on the assigned case study or a real project that one of the learners is working on. The instructor will go around ensuring they understand the work to be done as well to answer questions. \nMethodology: \nThe methodology used in this two day training rests on an interactive approach where the instructor incites participants to collaborate with him. The instructor will guide and help the participants to increase their knowledge and experience in order to integrate this new material into their working environment. \nThis approach will cover: \nProcess Groups according to the Project Life Cycle \n\nInitiating\nPlanning\nExecuting\nMonitoring and Controlling\nClosing\n\nThe Organization and the Projects \n\nVision\, Mission and Strategic Plan\n\n Project Initiating (Identification) \n\nCreate a project charter (project brief)\nIdentify Stakeholders\n\nProject Planning \n\nWork Breakdown Structure (WBS)\nSequence Activities\nEffort / Duration\nDevelop a Network Diagram\nCritical Path – Network Analysis\nSchedule a Project – Gantt Chart\nSchedule Compression\nEstimate Costs\nQuality\nRACI Chart\nCommunication\nRisk Management\nProcurement\n\nProject Execution/Control \n\nExecuting a Project\nMonitoring and Controlling a Project\n\nProject Closure \n\nLessons Learned\nDeliver the Product\nProject Closure Report\n\nCourse Evaluation \nA course evaluation will be completed by the learners once the course is finished. \n Supplement Material \nA student manual is available for the learner to follow during the instructor’s presentation as well as a case study. \nBenefits to the participants \nThroughout the activities\, the learners will be able to examine their current practices in project management and will be able to apply new methods which will enhance their work performance. \nCertificate \nA BEVA® certificate of attendance will be provided once the participant completes the course. \nNote: The course outline may be subject to change. \n
