DESCRIPTION:Learn in a classroom environment with your peers\, virtually with a BEVA® instructor online. \nCourse Length:1 day \nTarget Audience: Executives\, board members\, managers\, supervisors\, employees and business owners. \nThe world is diverse; it is made up of people who have different backgrounds\, traditions\, and beliefs. Diversity\, equity\, and inclusion (DEI) creates a culture where every individual is acknowledged and supported\, regardless of their differing background. It helps us to recognize the value in diverse voices\, as well as other individual differences\, such as gender\, race\, religion\, ethnicity\, or sexual orientation. Ultimately\, a diverse workplace will lead to better innovation and success. Through inclusive language and leadership\, everyone is encouraged to evolve both personally and professionally. \nMany organizations are working towards fostering a workplace culture that is committed to DEI practices and ensuring that every voice is heard. The BEVA Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion course will provide participants with the tools to recognize social biases\, respond to microaggressions\, as well as provide resources to create a safe and welcoming work environment. With strong team commitment and courage\, we can create a sense of belonging for everyone. \nLearning Objectives \n\nDefine diversity\, equity\, and inclusion\nExplore the dimensions of diversity\nRecognize common social biases and discover ways to overcome microaggressions\nDetermine effective communication strategies\nIdentify the components of inclusive leadership\nRecognize ways to prioritize DEI in the workplace\nIdentify workplace policies and best efforts to foster an inclusive culture\nSuccessfully encourage respect and belonging\n\n\n\n\nSupplement Material \nA student manual is available for the learner to follow during the instructor’s presentation. \nBenefits to the participants \nThroughout the activities\, the learners will gain a better understanding of diversity\, equity and inclusion in the workplace. \nCourse Evaluation \nA course evaluation will be completed by the learners once the course is finished. \nCertificate \nA BEVA® certificate of attendance will be provided once the participant completes the course. \nNote: The course outline may be subject to change. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n
