Learning Objectives:
To provide some basic tools so that a manager can hold an effective performance dialogue with employees. This session provides an essential piece of the employee performance measurement process as it provides managers and supervisors with a number of experiences and concrete tools that they could use to provide performance feedback to employees.
Course Content:
- Identify the conditions that foster effective performance management through the use of feedback
- To describe principles and strategies for giving constructive performance feedback
- Identify and review the distinction between two types of feedback— evaluative and descriptive
- To provide opportunities to practice giving and receiving feedback
- To discuss common problems in giving effective performance feedback
