This workshop is built as a “fireside chat” format for organizations looking to introduce mindfulness in a workplace-appropriate way as an effective strategy to manage stress and well-being.  The simple act of offering online APPs to employees is not enough and not appropriate today to help them make informed choices about what strategies might work for them.  APPs are not secular and do not provide the foundation for understanding how mindfulness meditation practices work to optimize brain functions.

This session introduces mindfulness and takes a neuroscience approach to demystify why, when practiced, it can help individuals and teams flourish. This session is workplace-appropriate and is trauma-informed meaning, among other, it is secular and practices provide participants with the choices needed to leave them feeling resourceful and skillful. We are meticulous in ensuring the sessions positively impacts all participants, allowing every workplace to benefit from the experience and this is why this session is offered by a Certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator-Coach.

Mindfulness is a faculty of the mind and when we are mindful it can often bring emotional stability, help overcome obstacles, notice inherent biases and provide a deepened connection with a sense of purpose. Practicing mindfulness is a powerful way to retrain the brain to explore new perspectives and approaches with life’s challenges.  This fireside chat will build capacity in your team to find and work from a place of being grounded and deal with stress differently.

Course Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of the concept and benefits of mindfulness
  • Gain an understanding of mindfulness meditation and how it affects the brain
  • Learn about the 4 main brain systems and how they are enhanced by mindfulness practices
  • Experience how meditation exercises activate each system with short, try-it sessions
  • Experience how to self-regulate strong emotions
  • Identify a brain system that could be enhanced by mindfulness practices
  • Explore questions and identify whether employees might want to further be supported by workplace-appropriate mindfulness practices to promote resilience.

This is a highly interactive and participative workshop.

Session Evaluation
