The Hard Work of Getting to the “Soft Stuff”

Description

Learn in a classroom environment with your peers, virtually, with an instructor online.

Course Length: 1 Day

Target Audience: General

Learning Objectives:

New insights into the brain and what this means in leading others.

Course Content:

  • How we see leadership and leading is undergoing a radical shift as we gain insight into how the brain functions.
  • Invite participants to challenge their thinking of the role of the leader by using recent research on how the brain “thinks”.
  • New insights are emerging and this research points to a new way of thinking, a new way of listening, a new way of speaking, a new approach to every conversation a leader has with their people.
  • The basic premise is that the role of a leader is to help others improve their thinking and to help them develop insight.
  • They improve their employees’ thinking – literally improving the way their brains process information – without telling anyone what to do.
  • Given how many people in today’s companies are being paid to think, improving thinking is one of the fastest ways to improve performance.
  • This session will outline some practical steps that leaders can take to facilitate this learning.
  • With the assistance of some videos and interactive activities, participants will have a chance to apply what is being presented and challenge what is being presented.
